On January 31, the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine was held in Kiev. On January 30, “Ukraine - Azerbaijan” round table and the next meeting of the “Azerbaijan-Ukraine Working Group on Energy Cooperation” were held in Kiev. The Azerbaijani delegation first visited the monument erected to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Kiev.

Within the “EU4Energy” program was developed with the support of the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the International Energy Charter, the next meeting of the Working Group on the “National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency of Azerbaijan” was held with the participation of international organizations, government agencies and experts.

The 12th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine will be held in Kiev on January 31. Delegations led by the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladislav Krykliy will attend the meeting.

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov received citizens in Siyazan city, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev in Gobustan and Deputy Minister Elnur Soltanov in Jalilabad city on January 24 in accordance with the schedule of citizen recepion by the heads and deputy heads of the central executive authroities.

The Ministry of Energy has started the implementation of the Volunteer Program of “Young Power engineers” pursuant to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 30, 2019 declaring “the Year of Volunteers in the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

The meeting was held between Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the delegation led by IFC Regional Director for Caucasus and Russia, Jan Van Bilsen. Jan van Bilsen spoke about issues such as attracting investments to private sector and increasing the role of the sector in the economy. Drawing on the experience of private sector development and reforms in the energy sector in many countries, the International Finance Corporation has expressed interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan in this regard.

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received Executive Director of “Total” for Azerbaijan Regis Agut. The current status related to the implementation of “Absheron” project and the issues of cooperation with “Total” company in the field of renewable energy sources were discussed during the meeting.

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov held another citizen reception.

During 2019, 686 cases of administrative violations were reviewed at the Ministry of Energy. 626 of them were connected to natural gas and 60 to electricity.
