Azerbaijan will be exempted from its obligations of restricting the oil production from 1 April. The implementation of the Declaration on Cooperation signed on 6 December 2019 on the reduction of daily oil production by 1.7 mln barrels in “OPEC plus” countries finishes today. During this period Azerbaijan fully performed obligation of 27,000 barrels within the Declaration on Cooperation.
In the first quarter of this year, the Ministry of Energy and Energy Regulatory Agency received 2094 appeals on consumers' rights protection, electricity supply, natural gas supply.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry have joined the initiative to transfer funds to the Fund to Support Fight Against Coronavirus set up in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as part of measures regarding the protection of health of population and strengthening the fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the country.
Appropriate instructions were given to the structural units of the Ministry of Energy and Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry to prevent the risk of this disease and to promptly implement preventive and urgent measures in order to fight against coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 16, 2020, the Ministry of Energy has stopped the reception of citizens in connection with the measures taken to fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev received citizens in Agsu city and Deputy Minister Elnur Soltanov in Ismayilli on March 13.
The citizen reception by the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, scheduled for March 13 in Masalli, has been postponed.
The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov held another citizen reception. Citizens' appeals were related to the payment of debt for electricity consumption, metering, employment and other issues.
In February, daily oil production in Azerbaijan amounted to 750,6 thousand barrels, including 667,000 barrels’ crude oil and 83,2 thousand barrels’ condensate.
During his visit to Vienna the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov held metings with the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Secretary General of OPEC Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, and Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexandr Novak.
