Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov. The Minister congratulated Bahrom Ashrafkhanov on the start of diplomatic activity in the country and wished him success.

During the meeting, Parviz Shahbazov informed the Ambassador about the latest military provocations of Armenia against our country and counter-attack operations carried out by Azerbaijan in its territory. Despite of the achievement of a humanitarian ceasefire, attacks of the Armenian Armed Forces on settlements located far from the frontline zone, including killing of civilians and targeting strategic facilities as a result of missile strikes to the second largest city of Azerbaijan, Ganja were brought to the attention at the meeting.

Minister Parviz Shahbazov thanked Ambassador Bahrom Ashrafkhanov for Uzbekistan's support for the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The sides also discussed the current state and prospects of energy cooperation between the two countries, as well as issues related to the signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
