In the first quarter of 2019, the Ministry of Energy has issued 34 permits for the export, import and transit of goods (works, services, and results of intellectual activity) that are subject to export control. 25 of the issued permits were related to imports of goods subject to export control, 1 to export of goods subject to export control, and 8 to the transit of goods subject to export control.
The second meeting of the Working Group for Energy Regulatory was held. Within the second meeting of Working Group consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Energy Regulatory Agency, “Azerenergy” OJSC, “Azerishiq” OJSC, “Azerigaz” PU and “Azeristiliktechizat” OJSC sessions of trainings on regulation in the energy sector.
The meeting of countries’ energy ministers on “Eastern Partnership” will be held in Bucharest, Romania on April 2. Azerbaijan will be represented by Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov at a meeting to be held within the chairmanship of Romania in the Council of the European Union.
The next collegium meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov was held at the Ministry of Energy. The focus of the meeting was to discuss issues such as the current state of gas supply, actions taken to address challenges associated with the gas supply and achieve sustainable development of the system, as well as administrative discipline, reception of citizens and review of applications.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with the delegation led by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. The Minister reminded his meeting with the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade last year in Moscow within the International Forum “Russian Energy Week” where they discussed bilateral cooperation. He praised the current meeting as an opportunity for further cooperation.
The 13th meeting of OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee was held in Baku at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan. OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo, OPEC President, the Oil Minister of Venezuela and the President of the State Oil Company Manuel Kevedo Fernandez, the Chairman of the Joint Monitoring Committee, the Minister of Energy, Industry and Natural Resources of Saudi Arabia, Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Falih attended the meeting.
A press conference on the outcomes of the 13th meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee was held in Baku with the participation of 14 oil countries and OPEC Secretariat. The Minister of Eenergy Parviz Shahbazov stated that both OPEC events held in Baku on the 17th and 18th of March were successfully completed. As an active member of OPEC+, Azerbaijan has contributed to maintain the balance in the oil market and will continue to support this agreement in the future.
The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov had a meeting with OPEC President, the oil minister of Venezuela and the president of the State Oil Company, Manuel Kevedo Fernandez, the Minister of Energy and İndustry of the United Arab Emirates Suheyl al-Mazrui, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Oil Minister of Iraq, Tamer al-Qadban, and the Executive Director of Algeria's “Sonatrach” oil and gas company, Abdulmomin Uld Qad in Baku within the framework of the 13th meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Arabian Company “ACWA POWER” within the framework of 27th meeting of the Joint Technical Commission (JTC) and Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee meeting of the OPEC and non-OPEC countries held in Baku.
The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Falih, the Minister of Energy, Industry and Natural Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the framework of the 13th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee of OPEC+ countries held in Baku.
