The Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan discussed oil market with OPEC Secretary General and Russian counterpart

The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, who is on business trip in Abu Dhabi, met with OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak. At the meetings, the current status of the global oil market and development trends, factors influencing the oil prices and global oil demands, performance of the obligations by OPEC plus countries and cooperation with Azerbaijan within such format were discussed. It was noted that a stability was available in the oil market and the significant role of OPEC plus countries in such process was highly appreciated. The OPEC plus cooperation was underlined as a successful and flexible regulatory framework that could ensure that the price stability would be steady.

The Minister Parviz Shahbazov also met with Mohammad Abunayyan, Chairman of the Board of ACWA POWER, which is the company of Saudi Arabia. Within the meeting, the sides exchanged views on company`s proposals for the cooperation in the field of wind energy.
