The meeting was held between the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and the delegation led by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative Alessandro Fracassetti.
In 2019, 124 projects for energy supply, which was based on the technical conditions provided by the Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry of Energy to connect consumers to the electricity and gas supply networks, were agreed.
In June, daily oil production in Azerbaijan amounted to 768,000 barrels, including 695,000 barrels crude oil and 73,000 barrels condensate.
In the first half of 2019 the Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry of Energy conducted 1004 investigations in the electricity and gas supply networks of consumers financed by the budget.
The meeting has been held between the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Guglielmo Picchi. The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said that the two countries have successfully developed relations in all spheres, and these ties have been strengthened by high-level mutual visits.
During the first half of 2019, 469 cases of administrative violations were reviewed at the Ministry of Energy. 435 of them were connected to natural gas and 34 to electricity. Articles submitted on 121 cases related to natural gas, which are not properly compiled, have been sent back.
Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Robert Cekuta, the Board member of the Caspian Policy Center. The meeting focused on the situation in the Caspian region, trends observed in the global energy sector, as well as the impacts of new technologies and digitalization. During the conversation, the role of the Caspian region in the process of integration with energy and transport projects was mentioned.
During the six months of 2019, the Ministry of Energy has started preparing legislative acts joinly with Norway's DNV GL Energy Advisory GmbHincreasing to increase the specific weight of alternative and renewable energy sources in total electricity generation capacity, improvement of normative legal base to regulate this sector in order to attract private investment in alternative and renewable energy, preparation of documents covering discounted tariffs and other incentive measures.
In the second quarter of 2019, the Ministry of Energy has issued 52 permits for the export, import and transit of goods (works, services, and results of intellectual activity) that are subject to export control.
Trainings on electric power losses in the networks were held jointly organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and DNV GL.
