The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov paid a visit to Turkey to attend the inauguration ceremony of the “Turkish Stream” gas pipeline. Senior government officials from several countries, beside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin will also participate at the ceremony held in Istanbul today.

Construction work on “Turkish Stream” project began in 2017. Two strings of the “Turkish Stream” gas pipeline crossing the Black Sea is 930 km in length. The first string of the pipeline is intended for the Turkish market, and the second one for the supply of gas to the countries of South and South-Eastern Europe. Each of the strings has transmission capacity of 15,75 billion cubic meters.
