The delegation led by Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov took part at the first Ministerial Meeting of Energy of Central Asian countries in Astana, as well as in the trilateral meeting on the project of uniting the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Speaking at both events, the Deputy Minister stressed that the political will of the heads of states paves the way for a plethora of opportunities to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, with a special emphasis on the potential for fostering partnership relations between the countries. He said that global initiatives and high-level events related to green energy transition are planned within COP29, and the Central Asia and Azerbaijan Energy Investment Forum will be held in this framework.

At the event, the work done and the next steps to be taken to create the Azerbaijan-Central Asia-Europe green energy corridor. It was noted that the draft agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the three countries was agreed, the Terms of References for the preliminary feasibility study of the project was approved, the Italian company CESI was selected for the preparation of the feasibility study and an agreement was reached on the creation of Joint Venture.

At the end, a protocol of the trilateral meeting on the project of connecting the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was signed.

During the visit, bilateral meetings were held with Uzbekistan's Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Kazakhstan's Deputy Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov.
