Chirag field
The first oil from ACG block was obtained from Chirag field in November 1997.
Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field located about 100km east of Baku is the largest oilfield in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian basin. The reserve of the deposit block was estimated at 511 million tons in 1994 when the "Contract of the Century" was signed. Later, this indicator was predicted to be 1.072 billion tons.
Total production from the platform for the first half of 2023 amounted to an average of 23 thousand barrels per day. More than 104 million tons of oil and about 24 billion cubic meters of gas have been produced from Chirag platform since commissioning.
