Wave energy is obtained from the conversion of motion generated by waves into electricity with the help of special turbines. This environmentally friendly type of green energy can be used by countries that have access to the seas and oceans.

Turbines that generate energy from this source have high construction costs, but low Operations and Maintenance Costs.

Given that a large part of the Earth is covered by water, it can be assumed that in the future the use of this type of renewable energy will become more widespread.

According to the Irena`s report on Renewable energy statistics 2024, in 2023 the global installed capacity in wave energy amounted to a total of 508 MW. Korea (256mw), France (212MW) and Great Britain (24MW) are in the top three in terms of installed capacity.
