16 September is International Ozone Layer Protection Day.

It was created on the basis of the date of signing today the Monreal Protocol on substances that destroy the ozone layer, announced by the United Nations General Assembly. The purpose of the establishment of this day is to gradually reduce the use of substances that destroy the ozone layer, protect human health, the ecosystem from the effects of harmful solar radiation, promote the fight against climate change and educate society in this area.
