September 9 is World EV Day. Since 2020, this day has been observed to promote the transition to electric vehicles and raise awareness in this field.

According to the International Energy Agency's Global EV Outlook 2024 report, about one in every five cars sold in 2023 was an electric vehicle. Last year, approximately 14 million new electric cars were registered worldwide, bringing the total number of electric vehicles on the roads to 40 million.

Interest in the use of electric vehicles is also growing in our country. To develop the legal framework for this sector, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev signed a Order on Promoting the Use of Electric Motor Vehicles.

Today, a number of measures and projects are being implemented in Azerbaijan to develop electric transportation infrastructure, reduce harmful environmental impacts, and improve the ecological situation.
