Bioenergy

Bioenergy is a type of renewable energy obtained from residues of plant or animal origin, as well as solid household waste. Heat and electricity, liquid and gaseous fuels and other products are obtained as a result of the processing of this energy.  

According to IRENA's report, in 2023 the total investment capacity in bioenergy in the world was 150 GW. The top five countries with bioenergy include China (31 GW), Brazil (18 GW), USA (11 GW), India (11 GW) and Germany (10 GW).

The investment capacity in bioenergy in Azerbaijan is 37.7 MW.
