International Zero Waste Day

30 March is International Zero Waste day. This day, which has already been celebrated around the world, has been adopted by the UN General Assembly since 2022 at the suggestion of Türkiye. This special day marks the need to promote the efficient use of natural resources, including energy carriers, reduce waste generation through recycling, and also calls for reducing the impact on climate change through sustainable waste management.

The purpose of celebrating the day is to reduce pollution and save resources, in addition to preserving biodiversity, ecosystems and nature beauty.
