29 September - World Maritime Day

World Maritime Day was established by the International Maritime Organization by the decision of the United Nations. The purpose of establishing this day, which has been celebrated since 1978 and coincides with 29 September this year, is to draw international attention to the pollution of water reservoirs, as well as the changes occurring in the seas and oceans as a result of global warming.
