In January-May, gas was produced in the Republic with an increase of 600 million cubic meters
According to operational data for January-May 2023, Azerbaijan produced 20.2 bcm of natural gas. 5.4 bcm of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 11.1 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz and 3.7 bcm from SOCAR. Gas was transported with an increase of 0.6 bcm, namely 3 per cent compared to the relevant period of last year.
During this period, gas sales amounted to 10.3 bcm, which was 9.6 % more compared to the same period previous year. In January - May 2023, 4.8 billion cubic meter of gas was sold to Europe, 4.3 bcm to Türkiye, and 1.2 bcm to Georgia. During this period nearly 2.4 bcm gas was exported to Türkiye through TANAP.
Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 June 2023, about 208.9 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 193.8 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 136.5 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.
Azerbaijan produced 12.7 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January - May 2023. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 7.7 million tons of oil produced while Shah Deniz for 1.8 million tons (condensate). SOCAR's oil output amounted to 3.2 million tons (including condensate).
The volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 10.6 million tons. Out of this, consortium accounts for nearly 9.5 million tons, SOCAR for 1.1 million tons.
Since its commissioning till 1 June 2023, more than 616.6 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 574.5 million tons of oil were extracted from ACG, while 42.1 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. Till 1 June 2023, more than 614.7 million tons were exported.
During January - May 2023, oil refining in the country amounted to 2.5 million tons. Oil refinery has been 373 thousand tons more in comparison with the relevant period of the previous year.
