Problems related to replacement of smart gas meters with mechanical meters are investigated

Recently, information on the increase in gas consumption has been spread in social networks after the replacement of smart gas meters with mechanical meters. 
Taking this into account, 27 expired gas meters belonging to the complainants were checked in the laboratory with the participation of representatives of the Energy Regulatory Agency under the Ministry of Energy and Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology (AzMİ) under the State Antimonopoly Service and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy in January 25-27 of the current year. Participation of subscribers wishing to attend in the inspection was provided. The meters were taken from the most affected areas - Khazar, Sabunchu and Binagadi. The results of the inspections are reflected in the relevant documents for each gas meter. As a result of the ispections, it was determined that some meters do not calculate the gas volume in accordance with the norm when consumption is low and were replaced with new ones by “Azerigas” Production Union. 
Gas consumption indicators have been removed from the new meters of subscribers whose meters have been replaced and chronometer has been issued within 24 hours. The results of the chronometer were explained to the subscribers who took part in the inspection, and they expressed their satisfaction with the research conducted.
At the same time, the quality of the gas supplied to the above-mentioned areas were also checked. 
Control measures in this area are planned to be continued and regularly informed the public.
