Electricity production in the country increased by 7.8 % last month

According to operational data for January 2023, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2759.8 million kWh last month. In comparison with the same period in 2022, electricity production increased by 199.8 million kWh (7.8 %).

During the reporting period, compared to January last year, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 210.1 mln kWh reaching to 2664.7 mln kWh, while at HPPs it decreased by 13.5 mln kWh reaching to 67.2 mln kWh.  at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) electricity generation was 27.96 mln kWh during this period.

In January 2023, electricity generation made up 2523.5 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (2460.0 mln kWh at TPPs, 63.5 mln kWh at HPPs), 28.85 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (21.98 mln kWh at TPPs, 3.24 mln kWh at HPPs, 3.63 mln kWh at SPP), 3.9 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC , and 203.6 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

Last month the electricity imports amounted to 10.8 mln kWh and the exports to 512.6 mln kWh.
