Cooperation with Asian Development Bank on priority energy projects was discussed
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, Asian Development Bank`s Country Director for Azerbaijan.
The sides expressed their satisfaction with the long-term cooperation with the Asian Development Bank in the field of energy. The Bank's support in the field of renewable energy, especially in solar energy and Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor projects was highly appreciated. The priority issues of the energy agenda were discussed. The work done and future plans for the construction of the green energy infrastructure, as well as the fiber-optic component (FOC), the production and transmission of offshore wind energy, as well as the coastal infrastructure linking Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were brought to the attention. The meeting with the participation of three countries and ADB on the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor project within the Southern Gas Corridor and Green Energy Advisory Council was discussed.
During the conversation, the cooperation opportunities with the Bank in many areas, including small-scale renewable energy projects and grid improvement, were evaluated. Also, the current state of cooperation on the heat supply decarbonization project was considered. In addition, the sides exchanged views on the development trends observed in the natural gas sector and the prospects for the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor.
