Energy production at HPPs and SPPs increased

According to operational data for January-February 2025, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 4864.8 million kWh.

During this period, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 4354.3 million kWh, at HPPs to 411.7 million kWh, and on other sources to 98.8 million kWh. 5.8 million kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 54.9 million kWh at SPPs, and 38.1 million kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

Compared to the same period last year, electricity generation at HPPs and SPPs increased by 140.6 million kWh.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 4353.6 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (3955.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 397.9 mln kWh at HPPs), 61.3 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (41.4 mln kWh at TPPs, 12.3 mln kWh at HPPs, 7.6 mln kWh at SPP), 4.1 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 445.8 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

During this period, electricity exports were 301.5 mln kWh while imports were 19.5 mln kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in February 2025 amounted to 2374.0 million kWh. During the reporting period, exports of electricity production amounted to 146.1 million kWh, imports to 8.4 million kWh.
