Minister of Energy spoke about Azerbaijan's role as a strengthening energy corridor in Eurasia at the Global Baku Forum
Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov took part in a panel on “The role of new energy and transportation corridors in the Eurasian zone” at the X Global Baku Forum.
In his speech, the Minister spoke about the role of Azerbaijan in the creation of new corridors in Eurasia in accordance with modern geopolitical requirements, and in this regard, the new initiatives of the Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev, which will further expand intercontinental integration, and the strategic views once again announced at the opening of the Forum.
It was noted that the need for safe energy supply and the growing interest in our country as a reliable partner promote Azerbaijan's diversification of energy infrastructure and energy corridors. Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that along with the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor until 2027, the establishing a “green energy” corridor connecting the Caspian Sea with Europe is on the agenda. All this, as well as other prospects for the transportation of energy resources, will further strengthen the strategic role of our country in the diversified energy supply and energy security of our partners.
During the panel discussions, the Minister also shared his views on the production and transmission of renewable energy in our country, including Karabakh, the transportation of electricity from Azerbaijan to Georgia, Romania, Hungary and other countries, and the deepening of cooperation in the Caspian region.
