Azerbaijan-Türkiye energy cooperation was discussed

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Türkiye Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fateh Donmaz within the meeting of energy ministers of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) in Hungary.

The minister expressed his condolences on the tragedy in Türkiye and said that Azerbaijan was always with the brotherly country.

Gas transit through Türkiye, increasing transmission power of TANAP within the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor, new opportunities for cooperation in the field of exploration and production of hydrocarbon deposits among SOCAR and BOTAŞ, TPAO, issues on the implementation of the Ighdir-Nakhchivan pipeline project were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that in near future, the construction of the part of the pipeline passing through Türkiye will be launched.

In addition, large wind and solar energy projects to be implemented with investors in Nakhchivan were also mentioned. The steps to be taken in the direction of the export of most of this energy to Türkiye, as well as the supplies of green energy to Europe through this country, were discussed. Also, the importance of the signing of a relevant document between the two countries to implement new opportunities for cooperation was noted.
