Electricity production increased in the republic in April
According to operational data on electricity, electricity production in Azerbaijan increased by 99.4 million kWh reaching to 2022.9 million kWh in April 2021 in comparison with the corresponding period last year. During the month, exports of electricity production amounted to 47.5 million kWh, imports to 15.0 million kWh.
In January-April 2021, electricity production in the republic amounted to 8947.8 million kWh. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs decreased by 46.5 mln kWh reaching to 8388.7 mln kWh, at HPPs increased by 98.6 mln kWh reaching to 440.4 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 1.0 mln kWh reaching to 118.7 mln kWh in comparison with corresponding 4 months last year. 31.12 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 14.2 mln kWh at SPPs, and 73.42 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.
During the four months, electricity generation made up 8050.5 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC ( 7655.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 394.8 mln kWh at HPPs), 115.9 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (62.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 40.2 mln kWh at HPPs, 13.0 mln kWh at SPP), 758.9 mln kWh on Independent PPs and 22.5 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC.
During the reporting period, electricity imports amounted to 47,2 mln kWh. 10.8 mln kWh was imported from Iran, 32.0 mln kWh from Russia, 4.4 mln kWh electricity from Georgia.
During 4 months of 2021, electricity exports increased by 53.8 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 554.5 mln kWh. 10.8 mln kWh electricity was exported to Iran, 12.7 mln kWh to Turkey, 31.2 mln kWh to Russia, 499.8 mln kWh to Georgia.
