According to operational data for January 2023, Azerbaijan produced 4.2 bcm of natural gas last month. 1.1 bcm of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 2.3 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz and 0.8 bcm from SOCAR. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 162 million cubic meters, namely 4 percent compared to the relevant period of 2022.

During this period, gas sales amounted to 2.2 bcm, which was 12% more compared to the same period previous year. In January 2023, 1 billion cubic meters of gas were sold to Europe, 0.9 bcm to Türkiye, and 0.3 bcm to Georgia. It should be noted that, during this period nearly 0.5 bcm of gas was exported to Turkey through TANAP.

Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 February 2023, about 204.6 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 185 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 130 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.

Azerbaijan produced 2.7 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January 2023. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 1.6 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 0.4 million tons (condensate). SOCAR's oil output amounted to 0.7 million tons (including condensate).

The volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 2.1 million tons. Out of this consortium accounts for 2 million tons, SOCAR for 134 thousand tons.

Since its commissioning till 1 February 2023, more than 609.1 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 568.5 million tons of oil were extracted from ACG, while 40.6 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. Till 1 February 2023, more than 607 million tons were exported.

During January 2023, oil refining in the country amounted to 559 thousand tons.
