According to operational data on electricity over January-November 2021, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2408.9 million kWh, exports - 233.9 million kWh, and imports - 10.4 million kWh in October. In comparison with the same period in 2020, electricity production in November increased by 288.4 million kWh, exports by 146.1 million kWh while imports decreased by 0.3 million kWh.

In January-November of the current year, electricity production in the country increased by 1843.4 million kWh in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 25264.8 million kWh. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 1672.0 mln kWh reaching to 23764.2 mln kWh, at HPPs increased by 180.4 mln kWh reaching to 1193.5 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 9.0 mln kWh reaching to 307.1 mln kWh in comparison with corresponding 11 months last year. 82.7 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 51.9 mln kWh at SPPs, and 172.5 mln kWh at the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant.

In January-November electricity generation made up 22686.5 million kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (21632.8 million kWh at TPPs, 1053.7 mln kWh at HPPs), 418.0 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (243.4 mln kWh at TPPs, 126.5 mln kWh at HPPs, 48.1 mln kWh at SPP), 60.3 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 2100.0 million kWh on independent PPs.

During 11 months of 2021, electricity exports increased by 400.5 mln kWh compared to the same period of 2020, amounting to 1389.5 mln kWh. 

During this period, electricity imports increased by 15.3 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 141.0 mln kWh.
