The first solar photovoltaic auction has been announced in Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Energy has announced an auction for the design, financing, construction and operation of a 100 MW Gobustan solar power plant.

The auction, held in accordance with the state policy that prioritizes the development of the use of Green Energy, aims to attract private, including foreign investments in the field. The 2-stage open auction is one of the actions carried out within the Green World Solidarity Year and our country's hosting of COP29, the achievement of the strategic goal of increasing the share of renewable energy sources to at least 30% by 2030.

It should be noted that the first stage of the auction is the determination of qualification eligibility, and companies wishing to participate must request a qualification eligibility document by e-mail auction@area.gov.az from 30 April 2024. The document will be submitted to the companies that have applied, starting from 7 May 2024. Auction participants must submit information on qualification eligibility assessment by 14 June 2024. The first phase concludes on 12 July 2024.
