Development of Azerbaijan-Hungary energy cooperation was discussed
Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary on a bilateral and multilateral basis and the current level of cooperation covering all areas within the Working Group on Energy. They exchanged views on the supply of natural gas and green energy. The Strategic Partnership Agreement on the Development and Transmission of Green Energy between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Transmission System Operators in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia, and SOCAR, as well as the implementation status of the Contract for the sale of natural gas in the amount of 100 million cubic meters between MVM CEEnergy Zrt. and SOCAR were reviewed.
It was stated that gas supplies to Hungary will start by the end of the year. The importance of accelerating the processes associated with the development of infrastructures to increase gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe was underlined. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the feasibility study of the Green Energy Corridor project covering the production of green energy in the Caspian Sea, the laying of various lines for the transmission of this energy, and cable through the bottom of the Black Sea, and its delivery to markets, including the other necessary measures.
