According to operational data on electricity over January-November 2020, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2120.57 million kWh, exports-89.14 million kWh, and imports-10,6 million kWh in November. In comparison with the same period in 2019, electricity production in November decreased by 59.3 million kWh, exports by 45.56 million kWh while imports increased by 3.0 million kWh.
In January-November of the current year, electricity production in the country decreased by 197.7 million kWh in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 23421,9 million kWh. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 273.8 mln kWh reaching to 22092.3 mln kWh, at HPPs decreased by 470.8 mln kWh reaching to 1013.3 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 0.8 mln kWh reaching to 316.3 mln kWh in comparison with last year. 88.83 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 45.09 mln kWh at SPPs, and 182.4 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.
In January-November electricity generation made up 20878.2 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (20036.5 mln kWh at TPPs, 841.7 mln kWh at HPPs), 397.0 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (205.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 152.0 mln kWh at HPPs, 39.4 mln kWh at SPP), 2077.5 mln kWh on Independent PPs) and 69.2 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC.
During this period, electricity exports decreased by 254.76 mln kWh compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to 990.24 mln kWh. Electricity imports decreased by 2.8 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 125.6 mln kWh.
