A meeting was held with a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov received a delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Van.
It was noted at the meeting that two countries celebrated their 30-years diplomatic relations and the development of relations between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam will create great opportunities for strengthening relations between the two countries. It was mentioned that the foundation of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
It was emphasized that there is great potential for the development of cooperation in other fields, as well as in the energy sector between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. Opportunities for expanding cooperation with Vietnamese companies in the field of oil refining, renewable energy and the creation of a “green energy” zone in the liberated territories were discussed. It was also mentioned that Azerbaijan and Vietnam are located on the historical Silk Road and that the existing international transport infrastructure as well as the North-South, East-West Transport Corridors can contribute to the development of economic, commercial, and transit relations between the two countries.
The significant role of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in developing relations between the two countries was also noted at the meeting. The current situation on the implementation of the protocol during the period since the 2nd meeting, the prospects of bilateral relations in the energy sector were reviewed, and holding another meeting in the near future was discussed.
