2 years has past since gas transportation to Turkey via TANAP has started
The first commercial gas supply from Azerbaijan to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline - TANAP, which was designed to transport Azerbaijani gas to Turkey and Europe began on June 30, 2018. TANAP pipeline, which extends from the Turkey-Georgia to Turkey-Greece border, supplies 2 bcm gas in the first year. Now, the second year of commercial operations is completed with this pipeline. About 5.8 bcm gas has been transported to Turkey via TANAP since its commissioning to June 29 2020.
A test pumping into the section of the TANAP pipeline from Eskisehir to the Turkish-Greek border began on April 15, 2019, and on June 15, the gas extracted from the Shah Deniz field reached the Turkey-Greece border via TANAP. Since July 1 of the same year, TANAP has been ready to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe, and on November 30, a ceremony has been held to launch the second phase- Europe link of TANAP.
