According to operational data on electricity, electricity production in Azerbaijan increased by 65.8 million kWh reaching to 2364.3 million kWh in March 2021 in comparison with the corresponding period last year.  During the month, exports of electricity production amounted to 175.1 million kWh, imports to 11.0 million kWh. 
In January-March 2021, electricity production in the republic amounted to 6924.9 million kWh. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs decreased by 59.1 mln kWh reaching to 6604.0 mln kWh, at HPPs increased by 15.69 mln kWh reaching to 236.09 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 4.7 mln kWh reaching to 84.9 mln kWh in comparison with corresponding 3 months last year. 22.56 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 9.2 mln kWh at SPPs, and 53.14 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.
During the quarter, electricity generation made up 6257.2 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC ( 6041.3 mln kWh at TPPs, 215.9 mln kWh at HPPs), 81.64 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (56.08 mln kWh at TPPs, 17.13 mln kWh at HPPs, 8.43 mln kWh at SPP), 569.8 mln kWh on Independent PPs and 16.24 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC.
During the reporting period, electricity imports amounted to 32,1 mln kWh. 8.2 mln kWh was imported from Iran, 15.3 mln kWh from Russia, 8.6 mln kWh electricity from Georgia.
During 3 months of 2021, electricity exports increased by 25.9 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 509.0 mln kWh.  8.3 mln kWh electricity was exported to Iran, 12.7 mln kWh to Turkey, 23.1 mln kWh to Russia, 464.9 mln kWh to Georgia.
