The Energy Regulatory Agency and the Ernst & Young organized a workshop on "Energy Market Reform" and "Power Purchase Agreements". Best practices of the European Union countries were presented in the workshop.

Nargiz Karimova, the Head of Consulting Services at Ernst & Young Azerbaijan, mentioned that this event would contribute to the process of energy market reforms in the future. Samir Akhundov, the Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Agency spoke about successful cooperation with a number of international organizations the Agency managed to establish in the short term, and underlined the importance of examining international best practices in implementation of energy market reforms and developing the power purchase agreements. S. Akhundov further emphasized the importance of examining the attributes of the local energy market.

The representatives from Poland and Czech Republic provided presentations on topics such as "Transformation of the energy sector - lessons learned and future perspectives", "Electricity power purchase agreements and other schemes", which dedicated to the best practices of the abovementioned countries.
