The 96th anniversary of the National Leader was celebrated at the Ministry of Energy

An event was held at the Ministry of Energy on the occasion of the 96^th anniversary of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov said that development programs, complex measures, efficient personnel reform and management methods established by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev have laid foundation of the long-term development in all spheres as well as in the energy sector. The achievements in oil production, oil refinery industry and power-engineering industry in 70-80s of the last century are connected with the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Minister of Energy also noted services of National Leader on protection of the state independence of Azerbaijan, elimination of political crisis, solution of sociol-economic problems in a complicated period in the 90's. He also spoke about achivements of oil strategy of Heydar Aliyev, and implementation, economic and political advantages of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (South Caucasus Pipeline) gas pipeline and Shah Deniz project: “All these services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev played an important role in the acceptance of the Caspian region as an energy center through Azerbaijan. The rapid economic growth of the country, and directing oil revenues to human capital were achieved. This policy plays an important role in becoming a provider of energy security, as well as in the long-term development of Azerbaijan as a country of energy.”

It was noted that the ideas of the National Leader are successfully continued by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today. The implemented projects, the measures taken to strengthen the sustainability of the power-engineering system have been regarded as samples of Heydar Aliyev's strategy, which are developed in the new stage.

At the end of the event a film dedicated to the National Leader was demonstrated.
