The protocol of intent was signed between the Ministry of Energy and the United Nations Development Program

The meeting was held between the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and the delegation led by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative Alessandro Fracassetti. The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said that cooperation with the UNDP will contribute to the realization of the priorities that meet our common interests and to the reform of the energy sector. UNDP Resident Representative Alessandro Fracassetti noted that the energy sector is one of the key fields in the activity of the organization he represents and will provide necessary support for the global and national issues in the energy sector.

Within the meeting, the protocol of intent was signed between the Ministry of Energy and the United Nations Development Program.

The protocol of intent envisages cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in the implementation of projects such as ensuring energy sustainability of Azerbaijan, climate change, energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources, reduction of emission and environmental protection. Also, this document envisages further expanding cooperation with UNDP in the implementation of measures arising from the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the acceleration of reforms in the energy sector of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

UNDP, which has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1992, is implementing a number of development-oriented projects in our country.
