The Minister of Energy received a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov met with the delegation led by the executive director of Sustainable Infrastructure Group of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Nandita Parshad, who visited Azerbaijan within the framework of the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council. At the meeting, they expressed their contentment about the cooperation with EBRD in the energy field. The financial support of the bank for the Southern Gas Corridor was highly appreciated. Nandita Parshad, who valued the Southern Gas Corridor as an important energy project for Europe, stated that the bank she was representing was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the other fields of the energy sector.

Speaking about the projects implemented under the technical support between the EBRD and the Ministry of Energy, the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said that these projects were of great importance for providing the widespread use of renewable energy. A network enhancement project to support the renewable energy projects is now at the implementation stage. They closely cooperate with EBRD in order to support the Energy Regulatory Agency.

At the meeting, the issues related to the investment of the Bank in the projects on the renewable energy sources implemented in Azerbaijan and exchange of practices with the leading countries in the use of renewable energy were discussed.
