The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received the country's director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Candice McDeigan.
Speaking about the reforms carried out in the energy sector, as well as the projects implemented to expand the use of renewable energy sources, the Minister of Energy underlined the importance of international financial institutions, including ADB's support in this process. It was noted that the priorities of clean environment and “Green Growth” country were included among the national priorities for socio-economic development until 2030 by the relevant decree signed by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was underlined that the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the use of renewable energy sources in the production of electricity" came into force. They expressed confidence that long-term and fruitful cooperation with ADB will contribute to the work to be done at the stage of development after the signing of the law establishing support mechanisms for promoting the production of electricity from renewable energy sources and regulating relations in this area. 
In turn, Candice McDeigan noted that ADB is interested in continuing to support the development of cooperation in the energy sector in Azerbaijan, including in the field of “green energy”, as well as in expanding the use of renewable energy especially in the liberated areas. The work carried out on the pilot project “Exchange of knowledge and technical assistance on the development of floating solar panels system”, which is currently being implemented, was considered as an example of successful cooperation.
