Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of electric power-engineering is continuing. Within the framework of the measures taken in this direction, the next meeting of the Joint Technical Commission was held via videoconference, which was established in order to carry out joint activities on the construction and operation of “Khudaferin” and “Maiden Tower” hydro-juctions and hydroelectric power plants on the Aras River. 
At the meeting, the calculation of costs for construction and damage incurred on “Khudaferin” and “Maiden Tower” hydro-junctions, as well as the purchase and installation of water power plants and equipment were widely discussed.
At the same time, the first meeting of the Joint Technical Commission on the construction of Ordubad and Marazad hydroelectric power plants was held via videoconference format. At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the acceleration of the construction of the Ordubad hydroelectric power station and assessment of the environmental impact of the construction of the station. At the meeting it was decided to hold the next meeting at the end of September of the current year in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.
