On December 20, the next meeting of the Working Group on connection to power supply networks of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held in video conference format.

Information was provided on the topics of the agenda of the meeting chaired by the Head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev, and the video conference was announced open. After the introductory speech of the Head of the Secretariat of the Commission Vusal Shikhaliyev, in accordance with the agenda, the Working Group members made their speechs and discussions were held.

Information was given on the work done to increase the number of electronic connections to the power supply network and the results obtained. Plans have been clarified to further increase the number of e-system users.

The results of the survey conducted in the 3rd quarter of 2022 among business entities regarding the reforms carried out in the field of connection to the electricity supply network were reviewed, a comparison was made with the results of the 2nd quarter, and the steps to be taken to make improvements in this area were determined.

The application and proposals of “Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture” on the procedure of connecting SMEs to the power supply network were considered.

At the same time, discussions were held on the relevant implementation status of the measures envisaged in the Road Map for 2022-2023 in connection with the indicator of connection to utilities (power supply network) of the World Bank Group's Business Enabling Environment (BEE) project and the Action Plan of the Working Group for 2022 at the meeting.

The representatives of the ministries of Energy and Economy, Small and Medium Business Development Agency, Energy Regulatory Agency, Renewable Energy Agency, “Innovations Center” LLC under State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Azerishig” OJSC, “Azerenergy” OJSC and private companies which are members of the Working Group attended at the meeting.
