According to operational data on electricity over January-July 2020, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2395.1 million kWh, exports - 110.7 million kWh, and imports - 15.9 million kWh in July. In comparison with the same period in 2019, electricity production in July increased by 26.2 million kWh, exports by 9 million kWh and imports increased by 2.6 million kWh. In January-July of the current year, electricity production in the country increased by 96 million kWh in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 15346.9 million kWh. 
During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 381.5 mln kWh reaching to 14358.9 mln kWh, at HPPs decreased by 277.4 mln kWh reaching to 774.5 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) decreased by 8.1 mln kWh reaching to 213.5 mln kWh in comparison with same period last year.  63.03 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 28 mln kWh at SPPs, and 122.5 mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.
Over January-July of 2020 electricity generation made up 13726.7 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (13086.6 mln kWh at TPPs, 640.1 mln kWh at HPPs), 243.6 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (98.6 mln kWh at TPPs, 120.9 mln kWh at HPPs, 24.1 mln kWh at SPP), and 1376.6 mln kWh on Independent PPs).
 During this period, electricity exports decreased by 43.3 mln kWh compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to 731.8 mln kWh. Electricity imports decreased by 6.4 mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 87.4 mln kWh.
