According to operational data on electricity over January-October 2020, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 1895.7million kWh, exports - 59,8 million kWh, and imports -  10,8 million kWh in October. In comparison with the same period in 2019, electricity production in October increased by 24.7 million kWh, imports by 1.5 million kWh and exports by 14.5 million kWh.

In January-October of the current year, electricity production in the country decreased by 138.5 million kWh in comparison with the same period last year and amounted to 21301,3 million kWh. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 315.2 mln kWh reaching to 20063.7 mln kWh, at HPPs decreased by 455.0 mln kWh reaching to 946.4 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) increased by 1.2 mln kWh reaching to 291.2 mln kWh in comparison with same period last year. 82.82 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 42.44 mln kWh at SPPs, and 166.0  mln kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

In January-October electricity generation made up 18998.5 mln kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (18214.3 mln kWh at TPPs, 784.2 mln kWh at HPPs), 356.0 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (175.3 mln kWh at TPPs, 143.7 mln kWh at HPPs, 37.0 mln kWh at SPP), and 1946.8 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

During this period, electricity exports decreased by 208.6 mln kWh compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to 901.7 mln kWh. Electricity imports decreased by 5.7mln kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 115.1 mln kWh.
