Electricity production in the country increased by 2.3 % in the first half

In total, the electricity production in the republic increased by 315.6 mln kWh, namely 2.3 % compared to the same period last year, amounting to 13520.5 mln kWh in January-June 2022. During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 110.3 mln kWh reaching to 12357.8 mln kWh.

In January - June, electricity production from other renewable energy sources (WPP, SPP, Solid household waste plant), including HPPs, amounted to 1162.7 million kWh with an increase of 205.3 million kWh or 21.4%. Electricity generation at HPPs increased by 199.3 mln kWh reaching to 970.6 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) increased by 6.0 mln kWh reaching to 192.1 mln kWh in comparison with last year. 46.8 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 30.7 mln kWh at SPPs, and 114.6 mln kWh at the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant.

In January-June electricity generation made up 12152.4 million kWh on "Azerenergy" OJSC (11252.8 million kWh at TPPs, 899.6 mln kWh at HPPs), 210.9 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (120.4 mln kWh at TPPs, 62.2 mln kWh at HPPs, 28.3 mln kWh at SPP), 32.7 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 1124.5 million kWh on independent PPs.

In January-June 2022, the electricity exports amounted to 664.1 mln kWh, and imports to 71.1 mln kWh.

The electricity production in the republic in June 2022 amounted to 2276.3 mln kWh, exports to 126.2 million kWh, imports to 10.8 million kWh.
