The next meetings of the Technical Commissions on the Khudafarin-Giz Galasi and Ordubad-Marazad projects under construction between Azerbaijan and Iran on the Araz River were held in Nakhchivan

In order to discuss the tasks assigned to the parties upon the agreement on construction and commissioning of Ordubad and Marazad hydroelectric power plants and the measures specified in the relevant provisions of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the cooperation on continuing the construction and commissioning of "Khudaferin" and  "Giz Galasi" hydro junctions and hydropower plants on the Araz River, the next meeting of the relevant Technical Commissions was held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on 14-16 December.
The main topics of discussion of the meetings were the work done on "Khudaferin" by the Islamic Republic of Iran , the calculating of the damage to the flooded territories of Azerbaijan, etc. Within the meetings, the area under construction of the Ordubad Hydroelectric Power Station was reviewed on the spot, and then detailed discussions were held on the acceleration of the construction process. At the same time, in connection with the construction of Marazad HPP, the sides exchanged views on cooperation opportunities. It is planned to continue the meetings.
