Electricity production in the country increased during 11 months

According to operational data on electricity, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2506.0 million kWh in November 2022. In comparison with the same period of last year, electricity production increased by 96.0 million kWh (4.0 %).

Last month the electricity imports increased by 0.1 mln kWh amounting to 10.5 mln kWh compared to the same period 2021, while the exports increased by 216.9 mln kWh amounting to 448.9 mln kWh.

In total, the electricity production in the republic increased by 978.2 mln kWh, namely 3.9 % compared to the same period last year, amounting to 26260.3 mln kWh in January-November 2022.

During the reporting period, electricity generation at TPPs increased by 623.3 mln kWh reaching to 24404.9 mln kWh, at HPPs increased by 339.4 mln kWh reaching to 1532.8 mln kWh, and at other sources (WPP, SPP and Solid household waste plant) incresed by 15.5 mln kWh reaching to 322.6 mln kWh in comparison with corresponding 11 months last year.

Over 11 months, 79.1 mln kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 59.0 mln kWh at SPPs, and 184.5 mln kWh at the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant.

In January-November 2022, electricity generation made up 23696.7 million kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (22277.2 million kWh at TPPs, 1419.5 mln kWh at HPPs), 439.8 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (285.8 mln kWh at TPPs, 99.4 mln kWh at HPPs, 54.6 mln kWh at SPP), 59.3 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 2064.5 million kWh on independent PPs.

In the reporting period electricity imports amounted to 126.3 million kWh while exports amounted to 2546.8 million kWh.
