Oil and gas figures were announced for 2024
According to operational data for, 29.1 million tons of oil (along with condensate) were produced throughout the republic last year. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 16.8 million tons of oil production, Shah Deniz for 4.2 million tons (gas condensate), and Absheron field for 0.6 million tons (gas condensate). SOCAR's oil output amounted to 7.5 million tons (including condensate).
During the reporting period, the volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 24.4 million tons. Among these, consortium accounts for 21 million tons, SOCAR for 2.8 million tons, Absheron for 0.6 million tons.
Oil refining last year amounted to 5.8 million tons.
It should be noted that in December 2024, the daily production of oil (including condensate) was 80776 tons (609 thousand barrels). Among these, 65 987 tons (487 thousand barrels) were crude oil, 14 789 tons (122 thousand barrel) were condensate.
In 2024, the country produced 50.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas. 13.3 bcm of gas production extracted from ACG, while 27.8 bcm from Shah Deniz. Absheron and SOCAR produced 1.5 bcm and 7.7 bcm gas, respectively. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 2 bcm compared to the relevant period in 2023.
During this period, gas sales amounted to 25.2 bcm, which was 5.8 % more compared to the same period in 2023. 12.9 bcm of gas were sold to Europe, 9.9 bcm to Türkiye, and more than 2.4 bcm to Georgia. During this period nearly 5.6 bcm gas was exported to Türkiye through TANAP.
Since its commissioning till 1 January 2025, 650.2 million tons oil (including condensate) and 466.5 bcm of gas were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 601.5 million tons of oil, 229.7 bcm of gas were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, and about 48.3 million tons of condensate and 236.8 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. Until 1 January 2025, 648.3 million tons of oil and 169.5 bcm of gas were exported from these fields.
