Green energy production in the country increased by 80% during 11 months

According to operational data for January- November 2024, total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 25932.5 million kWh.

During 11 months, electricity production at TPPs amounted to 22351.9 million kWh, at HPPs to 2780.9 million kWh, and on other sources to 799.7 million kWh. 48.6 million kWh of electricity was generated at WPPs, 540.1 million kWh at SPPs, and 211.0 million kWh at the solid household waste incineration plant.

During January - November, the production of electricity on green energy sources increased by 1,617.8 million kWh, that is, by more than 80% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3,580.6 million kWh.

During the reporting period, electricity generation made up 22908,1 mln kWh on Azerenergy OJSC (20314.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 2593.4 mln kWh at HPPs), 454.7 mln kWh on State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR (227.7 mln kWh at TPPs, 169.5 mln kWh at HPPs, 57.5 mln kWh at SPP), 36.8 mln kWh at WPPs on Azerishig OJSC, and 2532.9 mln kWh on Independent PPs).

During reporting period, electricity exports were 1255.3 mln kWh while imports were 159.8 mln kWh.

It should be noted that the electricity generation in the republic in November 2024 amounted to 2089.7 million kWh. During the month, exports of electricity production amounted to 7.9 million kWh, imports to 9.1 million kWh.
