On November 12, the Ministry of Energy was represented at the level of deputy minister at two events held within the COP29 conference, which is the center of global discussions on climate change.

Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov made a speech at the event named Green Road to Azerbaijan 2030 and presented the strategic goals of our country in the direction of the transition to green energy and the projects implemented in this area. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan's green initiatives are aimed at ensuring the energy transition within the country and the export of green energy to Europe, and projects in this area are being developed through international cooperations.

The Deputy Minister also participated in the event named Mediterranean Momentum: Accelerating Towards 1TW Renewable Energy by 2030. Speaking at the event, which began with the welcoming speeches of the Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Francesco La Camera and CEO of the Global Renewables Alliance Bruce Douglas, the Deputy Minister noted that our country, which is the initiator of green energy corridors and zones, has made progress in increasing the energy security, taking serious steps to expand the green energy infrastructure in the region and world.

The speeches of ministers and other high-level representatives from Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and other countries were also heard at the event. Increasing the use of renewable energy in the Mediterranean region, the difficulties encountered and the possibilities of cooperation in this area were discussed, and the participants exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects.
