The Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director General of the European Commission for Energy and Teresa Chervinska, who is on a visit to Baku within COP29 and Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

At the meeting with the Director General of the European Commission for energy, Ditte Juul Jørgensen, it was noted that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in energy supply and cooperates with the European Union within the renewed strategic energy partnership. The current situation on the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor, as well as issues arising from the Energy Dialogue and cooperation within the Advisory Council were discussed. At the meeting, the progress made for the Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor, as well as the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor, which are currently being implemented for the supply of green energy from Azerbaijan to Europe, were brought to the attention. The opportunities of European companies to build green energy infrastructures and participate in the production and export of wind energy in the Caspian Sea and its delivery to consumers were discussed.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the energy initiatives of COP29 and joint events.

At the meeting of Minister Parviz Shahbazov with Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Teresa Chervinska, discussions were held on projects of national and international importance implemented and planned by our country in the direction of green energy transition. It was noted that renewable energy projects to be integrated into the country's energy system by 2027 are worth $ 2.5 billion in investment. It was mentioned that, at the next stage, mainly export-oriented projects would be implemented and, in this regard, the green energy corridors Caspian-Black Sea-Europe and Central Asia-Azerbaijan were underlined. Investment cooperation opportunities with the Bank in the areas of green energy corridors, energy networks, improvement of energy systems, hydrogen and energy efficiency were evaluated. Vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Teresa Chervinska highly appreciated the steps taken by Azerbaijan on renewable energy projects and expressed its interest in the green energy partnership with our country .
