Energy Minister met with PowerChina and TBEA companies in China

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, who is on a visit to China, discussed the development of cooperation in the field of renewable energy with TBEA Co., Ltd and PowerChina International Group.

During the meeting with Zhang Xin, the Chairman of the Board of "TBEA Co., Ltd," information was provided about the company's activities in production, engineering services, procurement, construction, energy transmission and distribution, power plants, renewable energy sources, and the financing of other infrastructure projects. The possibilities of cooperation with TBEA in the production of renewable energy equipment, the supply of technologies, and regional green energy infrastructure projects were discussed. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry and TBEA was considered. Cooperation within the framework of COP29 was also touched upon during the conversation.

In the meeting with Yang Yisheng, Vice President of PowerChina International Group, it was noted that the policies of the two countries' leaders, which have elevated Azerbaijan-China relations to a strategic partnership, are promoting extensive cooperation in the green energy sector. In this context, new prospects for cooperation were evaluated with PowerChina as part of Azerbaijan's next phase in the development of renewable energy and its international activities covering green energy corridors.  Satisfaction was expressed with the company's participation in the implementation of the 240 MW wind energy project in Khizi and Absheron, and the auction process for the 100 MW Gobustan Solar Power Plant. PowerChina was also invited to cooperate in the production of wind energy in the Caspian Sea, energy transmission, and other areas of renewable energy.
