The next meeting on Educating the younger generation about renewable energy sources was held

Within the Green World Solidarity Year with the participation of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy, a regular meeting was held with the students of ASPU at the Heydar Aliyev Center of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) on the topic untitled educating the younger generation about renewable energy sources.

At the event, the memory of our heroic martyrs who sacrified their lives for the motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Director of the Center Tahir Suleymanov spoke about the international events hosted by our country after the victory of our victorious army in the 44-day Patriotic War. He stressed the importance of this meeting in the direction of informing students about the benefits of using renewable energy, as well as the work done in the field of combating climate change during the current year declared Green World Solidarity Year and chaired by Azerbaijan'S COP29. 

Head of the Section of the Ministry of Energy Jahid Mikayilov spoke about the ongoing reforms in the field of green energy transition under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, informed about the projects implemented in this direction, the main priorities and plans for the green energy export. He stressed that the close cooperation of government agencies, educational institutions and other stakeholders in areas such as renewable energy and environmental protection in the current year has stimulated the raising public awareness on relevant issues.

The chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy Shaban Nasirov spoke about the activities of the Council and the awareness-raising measures carried out in various directions, and drew attention to the fact that strengthening the knowledge and skills of students studying in the specialty of teaching in such areas as green energy and energy efficiency can contribute to the sustainable It was noted that the Public Council is ready to play the role of a bridge between the Ministry of Energy and the ASPU with other bodies and organizations.

During the event, the speeches of the members of the Public Council on the importance of using renewable energy sources and increasing greenery in the fight against environmental protection and climate change, efficient use of water and energy resources, waste management, reducing the carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, as well as environmental awareness and the role of society in this area were listened. At the end of the event, students' questions were answered, and their interesting ideas about green energy were discussed.
