Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held a series of meetings in Serbia.

During the meeting with Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection, Irena Vujovic, it was noted that the friendship and partnership relations between the heads of state of both countries have driven the development of bilateral relations in all fields, including the energy sector. The current status of energy cooperation between the two countries was highly appreciated. The recently signed agreement between Azerbaijan and Serbia on cooperation in environmental protection was discussed. It was mentioned that cooperation with Serbia in the field of green energy would contribute to energy transition and climate goals. The reduction of carbon emissions, the use of new technologies in this direction, and cooperation within the COP29 were also discussed. Global initiatives under COP29 leadership were highlighted, and Serbia was invited to join the global commitments proposed by Azerbaijan.

In the meeting with Serbia's Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic, discussions were held on the development of bilateral cooperation. It was noted that from January to August this year, 32.3 million cubic meters of gas were supplied from Azerbaijan to Serbia, and that cooperation in gas supply has expanded with the new contract.  The possibilities of cooperation in Serbia's participation in the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor, the construction of a gas power plant, crude oil supply, and gas transit were also considered.   There was also an exchange of ideas regarding the Business Forum planned to be held in Azerbaijan in December.
